A few hours after the 126th anniversary of the Resumption of the struggles for independence, our president Miguel
Díaz-Canel, calls to honor the date of the restart of the struggles for the independence of Cuba.
The president, through a message on his Twitter account, highlighted the importance of the so-called Necessary
War, led by José Martí, Máximo Gómez and Antonio Maceo, to end Spanish foreign rule.
On the other hand, the Cuban Ministry of Culture, so that the date becomes a commemoration of culture, poetry and the
arts, also called for taking artistic spaces in tribute to the heroes of the Necessary War and singing the National Anthem
to 9:00 p.m. (local time) from homes in compliance with the sanitary measures by Covid-19.
