Flora and fauna

Among the endemic species of the territory we find precious woods, such as mahogany and cedar, these were gradually replaced by coffee plantations, of great economic importance in their time. During the Neocolony, the territory became sugarcane and, gradually, various crops were introduced.

Among the toxic plants are celestine (Agetavim Conyzoide L); the borbesco (Tephrosia Cineva (L) pers) and the buttercup (Yledenuin Nudiflorum). Among the medicinal ones you can find the ponasí, the immortelle, the aloe, the cordovan, the marilope, the holy cane and the pomegranate

Parakeet, like the rest of the country, has poultry, mammals and reptiles that together make up all of its interesting fauna. The density of endemic animals is low. Among the representatives of birds are the long-tailed hawk, the catey, the banana sijú, the kestrel, the chicken and the woodpecker.
