Cuban citizens and foreigners permanent residents in Cuba over 17 years of age who meet the requirements established for it in the law, resolutions 41 and 42 of 2013 (regulate the approved activities and the scope of them) can exercise their own work. 33 of 2014 (regulates activities related to the leasing of homes, premises and spaces), the three approved by the Ministry of Labor and Social Security.
Licenses are processed at the Labor Directorate within a period of five days from which it is requested to be authorized by the Director. It can be done the same from Monday to Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
The activities that are carried out in their homes, leased spaces or places approved by the CAM.
This body has the power to limit the exercise of activities in the territories according to the number of workers practicing, fundamentally.
The documents required for the granting of licenses:
- Identity card
- Two photos of 1x1 card
- Sanitary licenses in the case of food activities
- For the stonemason activity, authorization is required by the Energy and Mines office
- For space leases, authorization of Physical Planning is required
- For food activities, a sanitary license is required
The licenses are personal and non-transferable.
